Bianca Serio

PhD Student

Max Planck School of Cognition

My academic work focuses on advancing women's health by addressing the female data gap through the study of sex differences in the brain. My PhD research leverages computational methods to examine variability in brain organization, using open data from large population studies as well as deeply phenotyped single individuals. I analyze multimodal data, including structural and functional neuroimaging, steroid hormone levels, and self-reported questionnaires in both adult and adolescent samples. I am particularly interested in better understanding female heightened vulnerability to affective disorders.
